Hil-arious!
Well, last night I dreamed of code. It looks like tonight I may dream of nothing as I am once again battling insomnia. Although I could be working on proof strategies for my Discreet Math class, my mind has decided to seek out entertainment in the form of hilarious t-shirts. So I found this t-shirt here below and I had to share. I seriously laughed for about 15 minutes while imagining myself showing up somewhere wearing it, while trying to keep a straight face. Now the question is, do I really buy one?

The TRUTH
The truth. Can you handle it? I’d say that most people cannot. In fact, it has been my observation in life that while the vast majority of people claim to value honesty they neither practice nor appreciate it.
That was the trouble with truth, someone once told me; it’s a double-edged sword. How true. I had many times seen the disappointed look on another’s face when I answered their question honestly when they were expecting another response. But I also had heard a millions times, “I want to ask your opinion on something because I know you’ll be honest with me”. It indeed went both ways.
Recently I had someone tell me something that was quite brutal. It was the truth but it was delivered in such a way as to intentionally be cruel and hurtful (and for that there is no excuse). Some of you know this story because I’ve told a few people. Everyone I told responded with shock and commented a few choice words on the individual of which I spoke. BUT…THEN…they all added the same final comment, “He could have at least bullshitted/made something up”. And that really sucked because that turned off the anger that I should have probably continued to harbor. He was honest. And unfortunately that was one of things I really appreciated about him, even if it was sometimes brutal.
For me, the truth often hurts. But as much as it may initially sting, I cannot stay mad at the truth. I cannot hold a grudge towards somebody for being honest. “He could have at least bullshitted/made something up,” they all commented. But doesn’t lying make it worse? I tend to think so.
The TRUTH is that most people cannot handle the truth. The TRUTH is that most people would rather be fed some line of sugary-sweet, happy bullshit because it’s easier to swallow. The TRUTH is that most of those that claim to value honesty are not even being honest with themselves.

A word about V-Day.
Trying to walk through what is already a narrow and crowded hallway today was even more annoying than usual. Half of the hallway was blocked with tables and dozens of them. At the tables people were selling flowers, candy and crap. I think they may have been giving away condemns too?
Anyhow, so I get to the student union and now I've seen it all. There are 3 girls and 2 guys standing in the middle of the union holding signs that say, "Free Hugs". I actually said out loud, "really?!?!"...and then thought to myself, "oh this is a blog waiting to happen". And so here we go.
I hate Valentine's Day and most any other holiday for that matter if it costs me money or causes me any inconveniences related to time. The exception of course is Halloween when I take pride in a creating a costume often at great price (both time and money), just so that I many go out that one night of the year publicly wearing a hot/sexy costume. BUT, that is just so much fun!
I don't know, here's the thing...if some guy is an asshole 364 days out of the year and he remembers to buy a card and show up with flowers on Feb 14th, I am hardly impressed. If you really care about someone, you show it 365 days of the year and Feb 14th is just like any other day. There's no need for fanfare, candy, flowers, hearts or teddy bears. This is just corporate America giving you one more useless thing to spend your hard-earned money on and its dumb.
But that's just my opinion and I'm like all anti-romantic so whatever.

a haiku or two...
Craving you again.
Just one more time and I'll quit.
Addiction's a bitch!
Just one more time and I'll quit.
Addiction's a bitch!
Defenses were down.
He invaded my body.
But also my mind.
He invaded my body.
But also my mind.

Rant of the Day
Call me crazy but...
I am a little sick of clicking on news links to find that I must watch a video if I am interested in learning more. This annoys the crap outta me! Can't I just READ an article??? Apparently not. I see something interesting, I want to read more and no...no, suddenly a video is launched. And people wonder why I never know what's going on. I don't have the patience or the attention span for videos. So if I can't read about it, I forget about it. There used to be options like (a) watch the video OR (b) read the article. But I guess not any more. Alright, I feel better now having expressed that. Well OK, not really. lol
